Who will take care of you?

Who will take care of you?

“No one.”

My previous article was one word, so I decided to write more than two. And I will write some more today.

“You” have the main responsibility to take care of you before anyone else does. Because eventually, no one will.

If this sounds like a pessimistic approach, I would highly doubt that.

I do not deny the value of help, friendship, partnership, cooperation. I cannot deny the value of mutual and beneficial “togetherness”. I do not deny the value of love and family.

But if you think of someone when you hear this question, I think you deep down want to share the responsibility of taking care of yourself.

A good doctor is not the doctor who heals you. A good doctor is the one who tries to give you the mentality that you do not need him anymore.

A good teacher is not the teacher who simply teaches you. A good teacher is the one who teaches you to learn. And then, he teaches you to teach, so that you can be someone else’s teacher one day.

Dieticians do not make you fitter if they only give you the list of things to eat and avoid.

Trainers will not make you stronger, and business gurus do not make you rich.

If they try to give but you are not ready to receive, do they have the main responsibility?

Yes, they do. They indeed have responsibility, but the main responsibility is in your hands.

You should be a great doctor, teacher, dietician, trainer and a mentor.

For yourself.

You should first light yourself to give light.

You should first be the person that you advice others to be.

And for this, you have your own path, and you have your journey.
